Dear supporters of Style Pasifika,
2011 was the most successful year ever for Style Pasifika presenting our nation to the world during the rugby world cup as a key event of the Real NZ Festival.
Not only were we able to show case up and coming designers such as 2011 supreme award winner Nadine Freundlich Rahjens but we were also able to collaborate and present one off designs from the best of New Zealand’s fashion designers such as WORLD, ZAMBESI, Annah Stretton, Untouched World, Sabatini, Carlson, Liz Mitchell and more.
To add to it all we were able to provide a truly Pasifika fine dinning experience to international guests created by award winning chefs Martin Bosley and Michael Meredith.
Our piece de resistance was the international designer collection made of New Zealand merino wool by some of the world’s best designers the likes of Yohji Yamamoto - Japan, John Rocha - Ireland and Elizabeth Emanuel – England, designer of Lady Diana’s wedding dress, whom we were able to bring to Aotearoa to share our event.
Even though support from the participants, sponsors, audience, friends and family of Style Pasifika still runs high the management of Style Pasifika would like to inform all that there will be no Style Pasifika event this year 2012.
After many successful years nurturing and producing the Style Pasifika event to unite all New Zealanders as one Pasifika people, now is an appropriate time to halt production and take stock of the future.
Thank you to all who have made Style Pasifika the national icon that it is today.
